Game Changer... How To Build Authority And Follow Up Perfectly Every Single Time

Several national sales studies have revealed that 80% of all sales happen between the 5th and 12th sales contact.  I know, that’s a big gap depending on the type of sale.  So let’s split the difference and put the number at 8 contacts to get the sale.  Now stay with me here, I promise it will be worth it. If you have been is sales or have a sales force, you know that lead follow up is crucial. 80% or more of your sales rely on follow- up touches of at least 8 times.  What I didn’t tell you is that only 8% of sales people make enough follow up contacts to gain that business.  That’s right, 80% of the sales are done by only 8% of sales people.  So here is the screaming conclusion… No matter who you are or what your business is, you don’t follow up enough, and you are leaving a ton of money on the table, and… you could easily double or even triple your business right now with out adding one more prospect to your sales funnel. I don’t want to be rude, but you know that you need a better follow up system than what you have today.

So what is the answer?  Automation! Let’s face it, it is impossible to do all the follow up necessary to gain the lions share of business without automation.  Now you may have a contact manager that sends email, and text messages, and postcards etc., but here’s the problem… not every prospect is in the same place in the buying cycle.  In fact we can pretty much agree that every prospect is at a different stage of buying, and a plug and play contact manager just can’t do the job.  Especially if you are using the generic lead follow messages that come with the program.  Buyers can see right through this junk and rarely even pay attention to these canned messages.  But there is a solution… it is a smart, responsive, lead snare, follow up system that reacts to what you prospects do, or what they don’t do.  Let me explain.  Let’s say you have a roofing company.  Although this will work with virtually any business, and certainly yours, we will use roofing as an example for now. So, you have a lead, someone who has called, filled out an online form, responded to an ad, etc.  It doesn’t matter where they came from, but they are are not quite ready to buy yet.  As a matter of fact, they could be anywhere from weeks to months away from deciding who they will buy from.  They can either be entered manually or automatically into your new smart lead snare follow up system, once they are added, they immediately they get a personal automated text message that says “Susan, thank you for checking out our website, I just sent a special video to your email that gives you 5 ways to find the best value on your next roof, let me know if you have any questions in the future, Eric”.  At the same time the system sends the email to Susans email address with the special video.  Now here’s the smart part.  If the email is not opened in a couple of days, the system sends another text message that says, “Susan, did you get a chance to watch the video I  sent a couple of days ago? If not, here is a link you can view right here on your phone.

The system also knows if she did open the email, and if she actually watched the video, and will send a different text message that says “Hey Susan, what did you think about the information in the video? If it’s OK, I’m going to send you some brochures that show the different options you have in roofing styles. Be on the look out for them in your in-box.”  In a day, the brochures automatically go out.  Then a couple of days later, Susan gets a postcard with an offer to get a free upgrade when she buys her new roof.  A few days after that she gets another email with a new video that shows Susan why your company is the best company to buy from and specific testimonials from her neighbors about your roofing company.  Not only is this all automated, but the system already knows what video to send her with her neighbors testimonials because it knows what part of town she lives in. A couple of days later the system knows when she watches the video and immediately sends her what looks like a personal text message that says “ Hey Susan, I’m going to be in your area at the end of the week, would it be OK if I stopped by just to take a look at your roof, and give you an idea of what it would take to fix it for you?”  By the way, Susan can always respond to your messages and the system will send you a notification that she responded, and what she said.  It can even send you a reminder to call her based on the actions she has taken, to review… or not review the information you have sent her.  This system can go on for weeks, months, or even years, all automatically.  The options are endless.

Now you can follow up with every prospect perfectly, depending on what steps they take or don’t take.  This system is building your authority, making you more familiar, and likable to your prospects before you ever meet them in person.  Now… when they are finally ready to buy a new roof, who do you think they will call?  Oh please!  It is no question that your company is the obvious choice, head and shoulders above any other company in your industry.  You would have to really screw it up, to not get Susans business.  And like I said before, this can work for any business. Doctors, contractors, professionals, service businesses, manufactures, etc… any business.
